Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions are not legally binding until you have purchased services from Nucleus Tutoring, as they are denoted on the various interest forms and in official Nucleus Tutoring invoices.
Nucleus Tutoring strives to both improve your or your child’s chances of academic success through working with both the student’s educational strategies and through the school’s curriculum. Tutors from Nucleus Tutoring are prepared to follow the school curriculum and work with new topics as much as they are comfortable. Academic subjects, study strategies, test-taking strategies, and time management are all topics our tutors specialize in, we aim to help our students become more proficient in these areas as well.
The Owner of Nucleus Tutoring or an Educational Consultant from Nucleus Tutoring will pair the perfect tutor to the educational needs of the student. If at any point you are unhappy with the tutoring results and/or the tutor, please call or email Nucleus Tutoring immediately, and we will discuss possible changes to the tutoring schedule in order to maximize benefit to the student.
Tutors from Nucleus Tutoring are experts in their fields, with large breadths of experience and certification, carefully selected and devoted to bringing the desired success to either you or your child academically. Every tutor is carefully vetted and recruited based on their esteemed qualifications, professions, academic prowess, and tutoring background. All tutors from Nucleus Tutoring are Independent Contractors, thus once assigned to the student, communication concerning scheduling and cancellation is necessary, please keep your tutor’s contact information in a safe and available place.
Students are responsible for bringing their recent tests, quizzes, rubrics, worksheets, and/or homework assignments to every session. If underage, the parent is strongly encouraged to ensure their child has all educational materials needed for each session in order for the student to benefit the most from the session. Nucleus Tutoring is formed as an enhancement to school curriculum, utilizing the topics and assignments that you or your child provide at each session. Tutors are never to place answers on the student’s homework, instead they are to guide the student through the correct methods and strategies, allowing the student to answer questions correctly themselves. We cannot guarantee improved grades, though we do guarantee our tutors use their expertise to instill the best possible study, test-taking, and comprehension strategies in each session with the hopes that the student will adapt and succeed with them. Our goal at Nucleus Tutoring is to ensure not only a strong grasp on academic topics, but to also improve the student’s overall experience at school through increased confidence and dedication to success.
We encourage all students to utilize our specialized private tutoring as efficiently as possible. Students are encouraged to ask questions and ask for clarification as the sessions progress. We strongly recommend students not forget homework and bring something to work on to every session, as without relevant topics then that is money wasted on the student’s or parent’s part. If there is concern or need for discussion, please contact or email either Nucleus Tutoring or your assigned tutor.
Keeping every scheduled session is vital to see the most improved results. Nucleus Tutoring emphasizes that the student should utilize the entire hour to maximize their academic performance. Stopping sessions early does not reduce the required hourly rate. Students are encouraged to review material and strategies if subject material runs out. Please use the full hour each session.
1. Tutoring that takes place in home requires both the PARENT and STUDENT present when the tutor arrives and must be present through the entire time of the session. If either or both are absent at the scheduled time, the session is forfeited without refund, and the session is labelled a “no-show”. Please make sure that your and/or your student are always in agreement with the tutor on dates and times of weekly sessions as well as any changes. No tutoring is allowed to take place at the tutor’s place of residence. Tutors will not tutor behind closed doors or in bedrooms.
2. Tutoring sessions are to take place in open or public areas, specifically open spaces of the home, atriums of libraries, school study areas, or your place of business/employment.
3. Tutors are not to provide transportation for students to, from, or outside of scheduled sessions. Students that require transportation after sessions will need to be picked up by their parent or a responsible party. Please make sure to be on time as tutors are required to wait with the student until their safety is assured with a responsible party.
4. Please keep all distractions away from the tutor and student during scheduled sessions. This may include electronics, siblings, pets, and any other obstructive noises that may arise. We understand that not all distractions are possible to avoid, but we encourage avoidance of anything that could impede improvement.
5. Cancellation notices are to be communicated with the tutor as soon as possible, preferably by 24 hours prior to the scheduled session. Nucleus Tutoring understands that some events may suddenly interfere with the scheduled sessions, and as such it is the responsibility of the parent/student to reschedule sessions with the tutor to avoid session forfeiture. No-Show cancellations are nonrefundable and not eligible for makeup credits. Credit is only given in a cancellation in which Nucleus Tutoring is unable to find a replacement tutor and/or the scheduled session time is not possible for that day. When purchasing a pricing plan from Nucleus Tutoring, refunds are available until the start of the second session. Different terms apply to the MCAT Tutoring packages (see below).
6. At the parent’s/student’s preference, Nucleus Tutoring will find a substitute tutor for you or your student should the regular tutor be absent for that session.
7. For billing purposes, please notify Nucleus Tutoring at info@nucleustutoring.com and your scheduled tutor by the 25th of the month if you plan to miss any of the next month's tutoring sessions due to a pre-scheduled event. In the case of permanent changes to schedule, please notify your tutor as soon as possible.
8. As a client of Nucleus Tutoring, you must not directly solicit services of any of our tutors. All contracted tutors have agreed in writing to not accept direct payment or employment from any client of Nucleus Tutoring under possibility of litigation. This policy is effective for 2 years following the signing of this agreement.
9. Nucleus Tutoring reserves the right to change the prices of services as necessary with prior notice.
Breaches of this agreement will be viewed as an intentional act on the party’s part to interfere with the contract of Nucleus Tutoring, and will result in possible legal action and/or other appropriate measures taken against the breaching party for monetary damages.

By accepting these Terms & Conditions, you agree to session lengths over one hour, should the tutor feel that he/she needs more time to finish explaining a concept or task. If so, you will be billed for this extra time in 15-minute intervals the following month.
We at Nucleus Tutoring love referrals, and will reward you with $50 for each client referred to Nucleus who then goes on to become a client. This reward will be added into your monthly invoice.

MCAT Tutoring Money Back Guarantee:
Measuring score improvement

We compare the score you received on the official test after you completed your tutoring package program, defined as a purchased package of 10, 20, or 30 sessions, with us for the same test to your baseline starting score on the same test, that being your most recent official test score that you received before the start of your test prep program with us for the same test.

If your score does not improve

If your score on the official test after you completed your tutoring package program is not higher than your starting score and other requirements of the guarantee are met, we will refund your tuition for the program, less the fee for any materials (as reflected in your invoice) that we may have shipped to you and any shipping charges.

Work you must do

Before your official test date, you must:
-
Schedule and attend sessions for at least the number of package hours.
-
Take all required practice tests as assigned. Only practice tests taken in one sitting while observing official time limits for all sections and breaks will be counted as fulfilling this requirement. If you provide us with documentation showing that the organization administering the test has granted you extended testing time as an accommodation, then you may have such extended testing time for your practice tests. In addition, only tests for which you have a score report in your Online Student Dashboard (such as by your completion of tests in your Online Student Dashboard, your entry of the answers for tests taken with pencil and paper into your Online Student Dashboard, or our collection of your answers for tests taken with pencil and paper and entering them into your Online Student Dashboard) will be counted as fulfilling this requirement.
-
Complete and documentation of all homework assigned by the tutor according to the schedule set by the tutor.
Time frame for taking the official test

You must take the official test for which your program is designed to prepare you within 30 days after your last tutoring session. If you registered for an official test that was to be administered within the required time frame but it was canceled by the test administrator, you must take the next official test that is available (unless the next official test available to you is more than 90 days after your last tutoring session, in which case you will need to contact us for assistance).

Time frame for submitting a guarantee request form

You must submit an electronic copy of your official score report along with your guarantee request form within 60 days after your official test date. The guarantee request form is available here.
