Founder

Nick has a strong commitment to ensuring that all students in the Mid-Michigan area have access to quality education. With ten years of tutoring experience under his belt, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table that benefits both teachers and students alike.
Throughout his younger years, Nick worked as a school-hired tutor and provided valuable assistance to a diverse range of students in various scenarios. He firmly believes in the importance of providing every student with the necessary resources to succeed, and with Nucleus Tutoring, he hopes to make this a reality.
In 2023, Nick founded Nucleus Tutoring with the goal of consistently pursuing innovative solutions with his team of compassionate, expert tutors.

Caleb is an exceptional tutor with three years of undergraduate experience as a teaching assistant at Michigan State University. Caleb is currently a medical student at Michigan State in the Lansing Area and supports a wide array of students in a diverse set of topics. He covers multiple science and mathematics subjects and has expertise in adapting to a student's learning style to enhance their performance best. Caleb has a keen interest and background in helping children with learning disabilities, stemming from his many hours working with Michigan State's Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities as a tutor and exam helper, which he utilizes with his students here at Nucleus.
He received his Bachelor's degree in Astrophysics and Psychology from Michigan State University and looks forward to helping his students succeed!

Abbie is a recent MSU graduate with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in History. She is in the teacher preparation program at MSU, teaching Algebra 2 and geometry classes this year. Prior to starting teaching, she spent 3 years as a learning assistant in college algebra and tutored geometry in addition to 3rd grade math. She prides herself on meeting students where they're at and trying personalized learning strategies to move forward with confidence and academic excellence
Abbie believes that all students have the capabilities to succeed when provided a strong level of support and compassion, with the strong belief that her students work best with the right amount of empathy and expertise. She's excited to tutor virtually this year and help her students thrive!

She has extensive experience assisting students with their college admissions, including preparation for interviews and essays to maximize their chances of success.

Alex has a strong background with students of all ages from his previous experience working as a residential advisor at the University of Michigan and his current work tutoring chemistry and engineering. He also is actively involved in many research projects where he helps onboard and teach upcoming college students the ins and outs of research. Alex is a compassionate tutor and works well with different teaching styles to help his students fully understand the material and succeed personally. Alex enjoys working with students of all ages in various subjects and specializes in chemistry and math.Â

Caitlyn has a diverse background with students with various ages and histories through tutoring in both family and professionally while in school. Caitlyn prides herself on her empathetic tutoring method with young students, allowing them to relate to her and learn through a strong student-tutor bond. Passionate about curriculum development, Claire has dedicated time to crafting student-centered classes and texts for math courses at her alma mater. As a dedicated tutor, she prioritizes instilling confidence and fostering meaningful connections between mathematical concepts and real-world applications. Claire thrives on working with students of diverse ages and mathematical backgrounds.
In her free time, Claire enjoys going for walks with her dog and swimming in Northern Michigan, where she is originally from.

He takes great passion in helping students achieve their academic goals and thrive in a supportive learning environment. Outside of teaching and tutoring, he enjoys playing and watching sports, traveling, and exploring different cuisines.

Hunter is a recent graduate of Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He has years of experience tutoring students in subjects ranging from Human Biology, Physics, Anatomy, Genetics, and Environmental Science. He also has tutored elementary school students virtually on topics of mathematics and writing.
Recently, Hunter has applied to both medical school and law school, earning multiple acceptances into both types of programs. Today, Hunter is a 1st year law student at Cooley Law School. Hunter possesses knowledge about multiple parts of the learning experience, and he's passionate about using different teaching styles to achieve student success in school.

Roland is a dedicated tutor with a hands-on teaching approach and commitment to making complex subjects more accessible for his students. As a non-traditional student, Roland returned to education after a career as a paramedic in the Grand Rapids area. This real-world experience informs his teaching style, allowing him to incorporate real-world applications that enhance understanding and emphasize the importance of the material. With a strong background in Biology and physiology, Roland has taught a diverse range of subjects to students of various ages and levels.
Currently, Roland is a second-year medical student at Michigan State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Grand Valley State University. He is enthusiastic about leveraging his practical experience and academic background to help students take on any challenge!

Ashlyn has over four years of tutoring experience across a diverse range of subjects. During her time in undergrad, she excelled as a personal science tutor for the Chemistry department and has over three years of experience working with children, where she has developed effective strategies to engage and support younger learners.
Driven by a genuine passion for student success, Ashlyn approaches each tutoring session with enthusiasm and creativity. She leverages her educational background to implement innovative and engaging teaching methods, tailored to the unique needs of each student.
Ashlyn graduated from Central Michigan University (CMU) with a double major in Biochemistry and Psychology. She ran Division 1 Track and Field for four years while at CMU. Ashlyn is current medical student at Michigan State University with an interest in Emergency Medicine.

Brendan strives to bring out the full potential of every student he tutors, and is not afraid to give students an extra "push" as they improve. He works hard to give his students the "aha" moment that they've been hoping for, and is excited to help this year's students do the same.
Brendan graduated from Michigan Technical University with a degree in Exercise Science and is currently a medical student at Michigan State University. In his spare time he loves to hike and bike in all the parks around Michigan.

Alec LaBadie, M.D. is an Emergency Medicine Resident in Detroit. He completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience at MSU and went on to receive his Medical Doctorate from the MSU College of Human Medicine in 2024.
Throughout his educational experience, he has always enjoyed teaching others. Sharing information and helping people understand educational concepts is something that he always wants to keep integrated into his practice. I have helped people develop in both the classroom and on the field, with backgrounds in neuroscience, kinesiology, and computer science.
He formally mentored with Spartan Performance and his anatomy lab through medical school, and looks forward to tutoring developing professionals in the art of taking the MCAT!

Jack is a dedicated, patient tutor with experience tutoring high school and university students. He has a deep understanding of all 4 sections of the MCAT. Jack understands the importance of adapting his tutoring style to match the student. In his younger years, he tutored students in a variety of high school subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Chemistry, and SAT subjects. More recently, Jack has been tutoring college level Organic Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, General Chemistry, and Math. His approach emphasizes not only mastering the material but also developing effective test-taking strategies, time management skills, and critical thinking.
Jack is a recent University of California, San Diego graduate and is in his gap year while he applies to medical school. In his free time, he likes reading classic literature, rock climbing, playing with his cat, and watching football. He looks forward to meeting and helping students achieve the MCAT score they need to feel confident applying to medical school.

Ethan graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Neuroscience and Human Biology. He is currently a medical student at the MSU College of Human Medicine. Outside of school, Ethan enjoys creative writing and participating in sports of all kinds.
